The beautiful and little known farmhouse of San Agustin de Callo is located 90 minutes south of Quito along the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Nestled in the foothills of the Cotopaxi Volcano, San Agustin is built on the site of an important Inca Palace. In 1440 the hacienda was built by the Inca Huayna Capac. When the Spanish came and wanted to build their hacienda, they used the Inca building and integrated the hacienda into it. Therefore, the hacienda is a mixture of Incan architecture and colonial style.

San Agustin has six suites of which four have adjoining drawing rooms and two incorporated drawing rooms. Furthermore it offers five double rooms; in total eleven rooms with a capacity of up to 34 people. Each room is equipped with king sized bed and a fireplace ideal for cold nights in the mountains. The decoration combines the architecture of the Inca culture with elegant and comfortable modern amenities.

The Inca dinning room, unique room of Imperial style construction with niches characteristic of this style, offers its guests the perfect setting to enjoy typical Ecuadorian dishes prepared by the hacienda’s excellent chef.

Activities are also available and organized on site, such as horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking. Trips to the local markets can also be arranged.

San Augustin is a magical place, where guests can go back in time and discover an extinct culture still alive within the walls of the hacienda, while enjoying the spectacular views of the Cotopaxi volcano.
